TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Neuro Stimulator.  These are used in a variety and array of situations in clinic.  Primarily, these are used in conjunction with other modalities in clinic to provide comfort and pain management.  Ask your therapist for more information while in clinic as to the benefit of these and "how" these things work to your benefit.
